Yiddish Chorus (suitable for chorus, choir and small groups)
Utilizing school ensembles and/or forming special groups for the workshop day(s), Strauss and Warschauer introduce the singers to Yiddish song and language. Participants will sing both a capella and with accompaniment, in unison and parts, depending upon age and ability. The songs will be translated and contextualized to give the maximum feeling for their origin, history and style. This workshop is suitable for all ages and abilities. Yiddish Songs
Sing songs from the vast repertoire of Yiddish folk and theater music. All songs are transliterated and translated.
